Ian worked as an assistant manager for a small company before joining the RAF and becoming a squadron leader and battle-management executive. He was awarded a very rare A-1 rating as a trainer and evaluator, often helping both UK and coalition executives and their units to improve performance. On leaving the RAF he became an organisational enterprise architect and operations SME before taking up appointments as an interim director and fulfilling numerous roles including programme management, organisational analysis and senior stakeholder management. He has since moved into leadership, team and organisational health consultancy.
Ian has a passion for developing senior leaders and helping them and their teams become more effective. He delivers coaching, mentoring and training to achieve these aims and enjoys working with clients to ensure practical application of skills learnt to improve business performance. He is a certified facilitator for TSDI, Everything DiSC, Belbin Team Roles and The Five Behaviours of a Cohesive Team Programme.
A graduate of the Open University, Ian also holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management from the Open Business School and has a wealth of other business-related qualifications and experience across diverse sectors and cultures.
Today, Ian enjoys addressing strategic issues with his clients in an open and collaborative manner. He has the gravitas to work at the highest levels whilst remaining self-effacing with a good sense of humour.
Outside of work, Ian is a senior member on the board of trustees for a local charity with global connections. He enjoys reading, exercising and playing golf (badly!).
