Experience

01/01/18 - 31/03/19 Interim HR Transformation Programme Manager at Havering Council

Key Achievements
• To facilitate moving the HR department to a more strategic target operating model, I designed, managed & delivered a 5-workstream HR Transformation Programme. I managed the resource allocation of 60 HR professionals & led the programme’s change management aspects such as resistance management, benefit communication, tool & guidance development & training delivery. I led the programme planning & held responsibility for risk, issue & dependency management & progress reporting. The Programme delivered improved relationships between departments; a more strategic, responsive & pro-active HR dept; & clarity on policy & process for all staff.
• Due to a lack of visibility or control of HR cases, I project managed the implementation of a case management system, retaining business ownership post-launch resulting in improved management information & a consistent approach to case management.
• In order to establish a consistent & ordered method for contacting HR, I co-designed & developed an automation tool leading to improved communication with employees & useful MI on query type allowing for more pro-active provision of relevant information.

01/08/17 - 31/12/17 Interim Transformation Programme Delivery Lead at Newham Council

Key Achievements
• To improve the quality of candidates recruited & to performance manage existing staff, I programme managed the development & delivery of a talent & candidate assessment model. I led the programme planning & held responsibility for risk, issue & dependency management & progress reporting. The Programme saw existing poor performers managed out of the Council or put on performance improvement plans & identified new candidates with the highest performance & potential levels.
• As part of modernising the Adult Services department, I project managed the delivery of mobile working to 400 staff resulting in more empowered workforce as well as spatial & travel related efficiencies.
• As part of a programme to identify savings, I authored a feasibility study for delivering a Resident Single View of Debt as a method of reducing debt. I identified that the most effective initial measure would be moving certain income streams to a pre-payment model thus eradicating the possibility of future debt.
