I am currently working with a public sector organisation who are looking to add a User Researcher to their current team to work on an exciting internal project. The right candidate will have excellent knowledge of using a range of user research methodologies, the ability to provide clear and concise feedback to team members along with key stakeholders, and be able to quickly adapt research approaches to projects.
*Planning the user research including creating a user research plan, defining appropriate methodologies to use and producing research assets (e.g. interview scripts).
*Providing analysis of the findings from the research and sharing with key stakeholders.
*Working collaboratively with the service manager and a designer to iterate designs and prototypes based on user feedback.
*Supporting with user recruitment and research administration (e.g. finding and booking in with participants, managing user data etc.)
*At least 6 months experience of working in user research, or working within a similar environment.
*Ability to work independently and highly organised.
*Desired experience of working in an Agile environment.
*Desired previous experience of working within a public sector organisation.
*Experience of using a range of user research methodologies. Able to choose appropriate methods for different life cycle phases and situations. Knows how to apply methods correctly.
*Able to turn research data into clear findings that inform decisions. Knows how to involve colleagues in analysis and synthesis to increase consensus and challenge assumptions.
*Understands the diversity of users of government services. Knows how to include all kinds of users in appropriate research activities to help teams deliver accessible services.
*Approachable manner, and can work in an open, iterative and collaborative way in a multidisciplinary team.
*Understands the social and technological context for government services. Can help colleagues understand how digital technology is changing user behaviour, and the challenges and opportunities for government services.
*Understands organisational strategy and objectives. Able to align user research activities with objectives to create strategic insights that inform policy and proposition.
