You will provide military advice to a range of analysis projects that aim to inform and help develop future policy, strategy and capability of the Specialist User (SU), as well as military advice to science and engineering projects aiming to develop advanced new technology for the SU. Most of the projects are longer-term, lasting several months to several years, but sometimes we need to react responsively to quick turnaround tasks (e.g. a few days). You will also be involved in development of the team members and the team’s capability.
Experience serving as a staff officer in the Specialist User community. Knowledge that spans the breadth of the SU regiments/units and their capabilities. A network of contacts in the Specialist User community. A desire to improve the capability of the SU through analysis, science and technology. The ability to be impartial. Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work independently and in a team, and be able to communicate effectively both with civilian analysts and scientists as well as with the military.
In this role you will:
Essential: Staff Officer experience in the SU.
Desirable: A former ‘badged’ member of the SU.
