An Interim Head of Housing Property is required, reporting to the Director of Housing, where your drive and determination will have a huge impact on staff, customers and all stakeholders.
You should be a highly skilled property services professional with a proven background in delivering customer focussed stock investment, maximising asset value and leading the delivery of cutting-edge repairs and maintenance services. You will also have substantial Landlord Compliance and Contract management experience.
You will join a team that provides high-quality housing, with a view to increasing commercial income and investments, plus harnessing the opportunities for sustainable growth will be critical for this role.
The Property function delivers most of the repairs and maintenance investment via in-house workforce to local homes, this includes many compliance activities. An extensive £7.5M capital programme is underway to deliver each year mostly through contract arrangements. This is alongside a smaller number of Corporate properties that add variety to create an extensive and diverse portfolio.
You will support the proposed changes to the delivery of investment to existing homes, in particular, with a re-focus of capital investment into a cohesive package of retrofit works to deliver improved thermal performance of local properties. This will help to tackle fuel poverty and support the Council’s key climate change priority. You will join a directorate looking to move to Carbon neutrality by 2030.
You will support the undertaking of process reviews of voids and repairs processes to drive further efficiency in the business. The final key priority in the property function is to mature Landlord Compliance arrangements. To prepare for this some changes to the structure of team will be undertaken. Pending these changes to the team the Interim Head of Housing Property is required to oversee the current team and investment programmes, and to accelerate the delivery of these priorities.
